Have you had recent contrast procedures?

Any radiological investigation using contrast media (such as Barium enemas, IVPs, and CT scans) or nuclear medicine tests may interfere with the accuracy of your DXA scan if performed within the last week. Please discuss this when booking your DXA scan appointment.

DEXA scan weight limit

The DEXA Scanner table has a weight limit of 155kg. If you exceed this limit, please call us to discuss options.

Arrival time

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.

Cancellation or failure to attend fee:

When booking an appointment, you accept the terms of our cancellation policy, which is as follows:

1) We request a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations. If you fail to advise us with this period, you will incur a 50% fee.

2) Failure to attend an appointment will incur a 100% no show fee.

Under 18 years of age?

We do not perform DEXA scans on individuals under 18. Call or email us for alternative methods and recommendations.

Have you had any recent surgeries?

If you have had spinal or hip surgery involving metallic implants (e.g., hip replacements, screws, or pins), please inform the radiographer conducting your scan. They may need to avoid scanning those areas.
